Richard Wilson, real name -
Ian Colquhoun Wilson - was born on 9 July, 1936 in Greenock.
He worked as a research
technician/scientist before becoming an actor and director.
When
he went into acting, he had to change his name as another
actor was already called Ian Wilson.
Trained at RADA, Richard is
perhaps best known for his extensive television work, which
includes the BAFTA Award winning comedy/drama - One Foot in
The Grave. His theatre work as an actor has included
productions at the National Theatre, and the Royal Court
